Inflatable Hot Tubs with Hydro Jets: Best Deals in 2023 + Reviews

Investing in an inflatable hot tub? Are you after a quality experience? In this article, we highlight the benefits of inflatable hot tubs with hydro jets.
Inflatable Hot Tubs

When we talk about hot tubs, there are many advantages to choosing an inflatable one. However, did you know that the majority of inflatable hot tubs have a major drawback? A tense and tired body requires a good relaxing massage, similar to that provided with a standard hot tub, however, most of the inflatable hot tubs in the market are only suited for a basic massage and nothing special.

What if your inflatable hot tub could provide you with the same massaging effect as that of standard hot tubs? A good inflatable hot tub makes use of hydro jets that supply water with the perfect amount of force to massage and relax the body.

In this overview, we have:

  1. Analyzed the features of hot tubs that are equipped with hydro jets.
  2. Identified four models that are equipped with hydro jets.
  3. Analyzed around 400 customer reviews of these hot tubs.
  4. Made a rating based on specifications and feedback.

A customer should not have to compromise between an inflatable hot tub and a good massage feature. Bestway Hawaii HydroJet Pro, Bestway Palm Springs, Intex PureSpa Deluxe and MSpa Elite Baikal provide the best of both features — inflatability and a good massage effect.

What are jets in inflatable hot tubs?

In inflatable hot tubs, “jets” do not always mean hydro jets, but rather bubbles (air jets).  Some sellers intentionally manipulate this term. However, there are several inflatable hot tubs that come equipped with the real deal- hydro jets.

Me and my team identified inflatable hot tubs with hydro jets. We compared them, analyzed customer feedback and created a comparison table based on our findings that will help you as a customer to make an informed inflatable hot tub purchase.

Before we jump into the findings, it is important that you know the difference between air bubble jets and hydro jets in terms of what they offer and how they perform. Being well-informed will help you make the right decision.

Air Bubble Jets

Air jets are a widely used massage system in inflatable hot tubs. They are comparatively cheaper and offer a basic massage.

How do they work?

The bubbles are created by a blower (which inflates the whirlpool) that in turn pumps air through a series of tiny holes.

When there are enough holes in the hot tub, a force is created which gives a tickling and pleasant massage effect. For some people this effect is quite enough.

What are the disadvantages?

Air bubble jets cannot provide a good or rather strong massage. It should also be noted that the blower constantly makes a noise. The bubbles also cool the water faster (because they come from the surrounding air). It’s a rather unpleasant feeling when cold air touches warm skin.

If you like hot water, and especially if you use a hot tub in winter, you should be aware that the heater in most inflatable hot tubs does not work simultaneously with the air jets.

Hydro Massage Jets

Hydro jets are rare in inflatable hot tubs. And such hot tubs are usually models of higher class. This is due to the high production costs of installing the hydro jets. However, it is worth the money if you desire premium relaxation through a quality massage.

How do they work?

Water jets are formed by the high pressure created by a water pump.  The jets are adjustable in direction and power. Hence they are able to provide a focused and powerful massage.

When compared to a loud blower, hydro jets work pretty quietly and therefore, take relaxation to a whole new level.

The water jets are also heated, which additionally provides a good healing effect by increasing the blood flow and relaxing the muscles. This is particularly helpful in cases of back pain and tensed muscles.

What are the disadvantages?

The only disadvantage of Inflatable hot tubs with hydro jets is that they cost almost twice as much as hot tubs with air jets (but still much cheaper than standard stationary hot tubs).

🛠 Install and Operate

All models are easy to install and operate.

⚙ Jet Power

Concerning the force of jets and comfort, leaders are Hawaii HydroJet Pro and PureSpa Deluxe
Elite Baikal has a weaker position. Note that Palm Springs has powerful hydro jets but no air jets.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Capacity

They are virtually identical in volume and can accommodate up to 4 people. In terms of space, the square (Hawaii HydroJet Pro) and octagonal (PureSpa Deluxe) forms are more spacious. A round hot tub (MSpa Elite Baikal and Bestway Palm Springs) is best suited for a maximum of 2 or 3 adults.
In addition, all the hot tubs are quite deep. Keep in mind that seats may be required, especially for children.

🌡 Temperature Retention

Palm Springs has the best heat preservation performance. Keep in mind that this is partly due to the lack of air jets that accelerate water cooling. If you only use hydro jets, heat can be retained for longer in each of the hot tubs.

🤫 Silence

The same rule applies here as for heat preservation. Air jets are much louder than hydro jets and therefore the winner in this category is also Palm Springs.

Based on the features that are important to you, use the findings that we have presented to make an informed decision and take your inflatable hot tub experience to a personal level. Our favorites are the Hawaii HydroJet Pro and PureSpa Jet & Bubble Deluxe due to their spaciousness, comfort and the power of the jets.

What issues can arise with inflatable hot tubs?

Inflatable Hot Tubs

Inflatable hot tubs require specific conditions to offer optimal performance. Although these hot tubs are made of durable materials, constant exposure to the sun or external factors (overload, sharp or hot objects, etc.) can damage the shell of the hot tub and lead to leaks.

Leaks can also occur due to poor transportation and delivery. For this purpose, I recommend ordering an inflatable hot tub through Amazon because of their A-to-z Guarantee. Not only can you keep a check on the progress of your delivery but you can also return defective goods without any problems.

The pump/filter unit in inflatable hot tubs with hydro jets has four to five main functions: Filter, heat, production of chlorine (in some hot tubs), bubbles and jets. It can only perform two of these functions simultaneously. This is understandable given that it is plugged into a standard 110 socket and each of these functions requires significant electrical power

You should be aware of these limitations, but they are not critical and are common to almost all inflatable hot tubs.

Summary

The presence of hydro jets in inflatable hot tubs can take one’s hot tub experience to a whole new level. The ability to offer a quality massage can really aid relaxation and healing. Whilst hydro jet inflatable hot tubs cost more in comparison to inflatable hot tubs with bubble air jets, the cost will be outweighed if you desire a premium hot tub experience.

These models with hydro jets: Bestway Hawaii HydroJet Pro, Bestway Palm Springs, Intex PureSpa Deluxe and MSpa Elite Baikal will ensure that you can have the best inflatable hot tub experience.

FAQ

💦What are jets in inflatable hot tubs?

In inflatable hot tubs, “jets” do not always refer to hydro jets, but rather bubbles (air jets). Some sellers intentionally manipulate this term as a marketing gimmick. However, several inflatable hot tubs come equipped with the real deal- hydro jets. Inflatable hot baths with real water jets: Bestway Hawaii HydroJet Pro, Bestway Palm Springs, Intex PureSpa Deluxe, and MSpa Elite Baikal.

🤷🏻‍♂️ What’s the difference between Air Jets and Hydro Jets?

Air jets work using a blower (which inflates the hot tub) that in turn pumps air through a series of tiny holes. When there is enough air to pass through the holes in the hot tub, a force is created which results in a gentle, tickling, and a pleasant massage effect. They are comparatively cheaper than hydro jets. Hydro jets are powered with high pressure that is created by a water pump. The force and direction of these jets can be adjusted. Therefore, they can provide a targeted and powerful massage to the body.

🔉 How noisy are inflatable hot tubs?

Generally, inflatable baths are not noisy. They only make a lot of noise when they are being inflated. Bubbles in the jacuzzi also make some noise. If you want to enjoy a good massage, in peace and quiet, consider investing in an inflatable hot tub with hydro jets.

💰 Why are inflatable hot tubs with hydro jets more expensive than inflatable hot tubs with air jets?

Before considering a model, you must have a clear set of requirements. Answering the following questions is crucial in determining the right Jacuzzi for your needs. Why do I need a hot tub? Air jets are very common in inflatable hot tubs. They are cheaper to produce and work on a simple principle. On the other hand, inflatable hot tubs with hydro jets are rare. These water-powered jets are significantly costly. This is due to the high production costs of installing the hydro jets and that is why hot tubs equipped with hydro jets cost more, almost double the price.
